How We Rated Our 2024 Home Renovation Projects

Rating 10 of last year's home projects: a kitchen reno, a project re-do, and a single room paint job (IYKYK). Another year of transforming this house into a home—one project at a time!

1.“Hidden Door”

Rate: 7/10

Not exactly a hidden door, but it blends in now and is no longer an eyesore. My favorite part? One more wall to hang art on!

2. New Front Door

Rate: 9/10

It took forever to arrive, but it was worth every second—it's an absolute beauty.

3. Wallpaper by The Stairway

Rate: 8/10

Wallpapering just one wall might not have been the best idea for this space, but I love this wallpaper so much, it’s staying (for now). Wallpaper: Hedda by Sandberg.

4. Repainting the Multi-Purpose Room

Rate: 10/10

Why didn’t I do this sooner?! The old color just wasn’t working. After years of trying to make it work, I finally repainted it, and I’m thrilled with the change. Paint color: French Gray by F&B.

5. Laundry Space

Rate: 10/10

Function meets beauty. The first design wasn’t functional at all, but after 4 years, we finally got it right. Worth every effort!

6. Color Drenching Eleanor’s Room

Rate: 10/10

Why do we paint ceilings white in the first place? This simple change made the room so much cozier.

7. DIY Custom Closet + IKEA Hack

Rate: 10/10

From an eyesore to a super-organized closet. A mix of custom touches and IKEA magic did the trick!

8. Sister-in-Law’s Primary Bedroom Makeover

Rate: 10/10

Helping my sister-in-law transform her space was such a joy. A wood-planked ceiling + wallpaper? The best combo. Wallpaper: Hedda by Sandberg.

9. Sister-in-Law’s Kitchen Makeover

Rate: 8/10

This was my second kitchen design, and I’m so proud of what we accomplished. It’s still 99% done (the hood needs painting, and we want to add a narrow shelf), but I love how it turned out.

10. Faux Fireplace

Rate: 10/10

Still a work in progress, but it’s already made such a huge difference—even unfinished! Stay tuned for the next steps.
